The Noor Ul Islam Trust is a Registered Charity based in London.

The Trust provides a whole range of service to the local community. Since 1990, when it opened its Head Office at High Road, Leyton, London E10, the Trust has provided the local, national and international community with welfare services.

Noor Ul Islam Primary School started in September 2001. The school is 15 minutes walk from Noor Ul Islam Trust Head Office.

Noor Ul Islam Primary School is a mixed one-form entry Independent Islamic Primary School with 160 pupils on roll and with a waiting list which consists of over 420 pupils.

Noor Ul Islam Primary School is a dynamic, forward-looking Islamic school. 'To motivate every student to achieve their academic potential' is our ethos and we want every learner to achieve the best. We focus all our energies on providing outstanding teaching and learning experiences within an Islamic, caring and secure environment within the community.

Job Description

  1.            Toilet and Cloakroom Areas:
  • Clean lavatory basins with appropriate cleaner provided.
  • Clean inside and outside surrounds of sinks
  • Clean taps
  • Refill toilet dispensers in all cubicles
  • Refill paper towels in each dispenser
  • Wipe tiles
  • Polish mirrors
  • Wipe paintwork
  • Empty black sacks/rubbish bins
  • Clean and mop floor with appropriate cleaner and bleach as instructed
  1. Classrooms/ Group Rooms/Staff Room/ Offices/ Meeting Rooms/Hall
  • Vacuum (spot clean where necessary)
  • Hard flooring -dust control sweep or vacuum, damp mop classrooms. Mop hall once a week.
  • Furniture I desks- damp dust (all removable furniture e.g. trolleys must be pulled out and cleaned under)
  • Fixtures & fittings- dust and damp wipe (incl. skirting, pipes, window ledges)
  • Bins- empty daily and damp wipe monthly
  • Clean inside and outside surrounds of sinks
  • Doors - remove marks from glass, doors and walls

School Cleaner

  1. Corridors:
  • Hard flooring -dust control sweep or vacuum, damp mop 3 classrooms per day
  • Furniture I desks- damp dust (all removable furniture e.g. trolleys must be pulled out and cleaned under)
  • Fixtures  & fittings- dust and damp wipe (incl. skirting, pipes, window ledges)
  • Doors - remove  marks from glass, doors and walls
  1.            Stairs:
  • Vacuum carpet (spot clean where necessary)
  • Hard flooring -dust control sweep or vacuum, damp mop 3 classrooms per day
  • Furniture I desks- damp dust (all removable furniture e.g. trolleys must be pulled out and cleaned under)
  • Fixtures & fittings- dust and damp wipe (incl. skirting, pipes, window ledges)
  • Doors- remove  marks from glass, doors and walls

Knowledge, Understanding & Skills

  • You have a working knowledge of the role of and the skills expected from a school caretaker, in particular in relation to the job description you have been supplied for the role at Noor Ul Islam Primary.
  • You have a sound level of skills required to complete all aspects of the job description and are committed to being pro-active in your professional development to develop the skills in the few areas you are not confident in.
  • You actively seek to develop your skills for the behaviour management of pupils when on supervisory duties with them, in accordance with school policy.
  • You have a positive and compassionate approach to the behaviour management of children and are able to assist staff in maintaining high standards of behaviour, in accordance with school policy.
  • Salary dependent upon experience.
