Description

The Ihsan Nursery is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Manager to join our ‘Outstanding’ nursery. We are looking for someone who is highly experienced in working within the Early Years Foundation Stage and is passionate about providing a high quality and enabling environment for children under an Islamic Ethos.

Job Purpose

As a Nursery Manager, you will be providing professional leadership and management to the nursery team, effectively managing the day-to-day running of the nursery and ensuring the highest standards of care, education and compliance.

Suitable candidates for the Nursery Manager role will need to be able to:

 Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.

 To motivate children to learn, enabling them to feel secure, valued and respected and help them to approach learning with confidence and high self-esteem.

 To be responsible for all aspects of people management, including the welfare and supervision of all nursery staff.

 To be responsible for recruitment, appraisal, training and development, as well as allocating and monitoring the work of all nursery staff.

 To ensure that all staff employed in the nursery comply with the nursery’s policies and procedures.

 To control and check Tapestry, providing staff feedback on a weekly basis, ensuring that the correct information is captured within the individual online learning journals.

 To ensure the maintenance of consistently high standards in early education and childcare.

 Develop and maintain systems which support quality standards and ensure a coherent and systematic approach to planning and delivery of quality provision of relevant legislation and guidance, including but not exclusive to the implementation of the EYFS.

 Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with support staff, advisory teachers, local schools, Area SENCOs and other agencies that may be involved with the setting.

 To be the Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure that all practitioners and support staff have a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Personal Specification of Candidates:

 NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3
 Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation
 Knowledge of OFSTED standards
 Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
 Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines
 Excellent time management skills
 Excellent communication skills
 Excellent management and leadership skills
 Knowledge and understand of equal opportunities / SENCO etc.
 Previous relevant management experience.
