Azhar Academy Primary School is an Islamic school situated in Leytonstone, founded by the Azhar Academy Trust. It is a vibrant, progressive and pleasant school, with a strong Islamic ethos. We serve a diverse community and we pride ourselves to ensure that we provide our pupils with a broad and stimulating curriculum and a rich and memorable educational experience. The school currently runs a Nursery, Reception Class and Years 1 and Year 2 and Year 3 in September 2017.

We are seeking to recruit a reasonably experienced and qualified key person who is looking for a great opportunity to work in the Nursery, enhance existing skills with an opportunity to be responsible for raising the standards of teaching and learning. This position is open to candidates who are looking for an opportunity to develop professional knowledge, skills and abilities including those necessary for career development.

A motivated and experienced qualified nursery key person, with a passion for Early Years is what we are looking for.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare
  • Updated knowledge of the EYFS
  • Experience working within a childcare setting
  • The drive to ensure that the children under their care develop and learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding children
  •  Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS


We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The post will subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring services and checks against the ISA barred list for children.


Start: September 2017

School data: Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and Year 2 Year 3 in September 2017.

Salary: Depending on qualifications and experience

School visits: Welcomed by prior appointment
