  • Outline of Post: To promote the School and provide support to the Head teacher in implementing the Marketing strategy for the Pioneers Academy

This is an exciting time to join the team here at The Pioneers Academy. Reporting to the Head teacher, you will help to develop internal and external communications and build the School’s brand in Birmingham and the UK.

You will work on the development of our digital platforms and social media strategy and will assist in the production of printed materials, including the production of artwork for both on-and off-line. We are looking for someone with good working knowledge of Photoshop and a keen interest in photography. You will need exceptional organisational and copywriting skills, a great eye for detail, a flair for journalism and an understanding of how to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including teachers and current and prospective parents of the school.

The successful applicant will be able to think on their feet, be approachable, professional and discreet and be confident to take initiative. Editorial and design experience is desirable together with experience in managing social media accounts, increasing on-line brand awareness and content management systems. Our website needs a lot of attention currently and will be one of the main initial tasks.

The ideal candidate may have previous experience working as a Marketing Assistant/Officer or gained a relevant Marketing qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of interesting written copy covering school events for printed publications, social media and website news pages – produce the newsletter.
  • Update website and social media content.
  • Support the Head teacher with the design and production of a variety of internally and externally printed school publications/leaflets
  • Prepare and distribute press releases to local and national press
  • Produce weekly e-updates to parents – using whatsapp/emails
  • Manage contact databases – develop them with the admin team.
  • Develop the school’s on-line presence using organic and paid for methods
  • Be a confident user of Photography and photographic editing using Photoshop
  • Provide support for marketing events and exhibitions

Ideally you will

  • Be a confident user of social media and mobile marketing
  • Have gained expertise in desktop publishing software
  • Be able to design for publication and for the web
  • Web edit using content management systems
  • Be able to design advertising artwork, publications and for the web
  • Have working knowledge of GoogleAdwords and Google analytics
  • Have a degree in marketing, design or similar discipline
  • Have a sound understanding of marketing principles
  • Have working Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe PhotoShop
  • Possess strong administration and organisational skills
  • Have previous experience in a similar role

Hours: This can be discussed – as it can start as a part time role. Candidates must be flexible, dependent on school events and may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.

Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
