Description

The Headteacher should be able to demonstrate the ability to develop a shared vision, which inspires and motivates pupils, staff and all other members of the school community. This vision should include core educational values, moral purpose and be inclusive of all Islamic beliefs and values.
Responsible for:Shaping the future of the school and all pupils within it.

Duties and responsibilities

 

A)  Strategic direction and development of the school

 

B)  Leading and teaching

 

C)  Leading and managing staff

D)  Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources

 

E) Accountability

 

F)  Strengthening Community

 

  1. Producing and reviewing school policies according to Independent School Standard regulation and Department of Education regulation.

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

 

Qualifications

  1. Qualified Teacher Status\ QTS, and NQT

(a)Hold NPQH and be able to provide the certificate or letter or,

(b)Provide a letter from your training provider confirming your place on, and date of your NPQH course.

 

Experience

  1. Experience of successful leadership in education and Monitoring.
  2. Extensive primary teaching experience, and Primary curriculum Knowledge.
  3. Extensive Knowledge of Primary School policies and Independent School Standard Regulation.

 

Special knowledge

  1. The requirements for performance management in schools
  2. The provisions of the Primary National Strategy, i.e. Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
  3. Knowledge of school budgets

 

Skills – self-management, leadership and management of people includes the ability to:

  1. Prioritise, plan and organise
  2. Work as part of a team
  3. Devolve responsibilities, delegate tasks and monitor practice to see that they are being carried out
  4. Seek advice and support when necessary
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities
  6. Make sound financial judgments in conjunction with the Governing Body Financial sub committee to secure value for money for the school
  7. Communicate effectively
  8. Work under pressure and to deadlines
  9. Use ICT to enhance school improvement
