We are seeking to appoint committed and dynamic teachers for our Taleem institute. This is an excellent opportunity whether you are an experienced teacher, or just graduated from a madrasah and are looking to teach.

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual, the successful candidate will be in good company with teachers at Taleem Institute, who are dedicated to providing a high level of education to our young people and inspiring the next generation.

Job type: Permanent

Contract Length: 1 Year renewable

Salary: Good competitive salary based on experience

Location: Grays, Essex

Start Date: ASAP


Saturday and Sunday 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (both days compulsory)

Tue 5-7pm

Wed 5-7pm

Thurs 5-7pm

Due to high demand in the Thurrock Muslim Community, we have opened a Weekend and Evening Islamic School in Grays, Essex. We wanted an after-school class specialising in delivering high-quality Tajweed and Hifdh blended with the Arabic language so the children understand what they are reading.

We wanted an Islamic studies syllabus that would address issues facing the younger generation living in the Thurrock, Grays, Essex, while at the same time focusing on the task of nurturing the Islamic characteristics and morals within our children.

We teach students to be upright and distinguish right from wrong and to respect the law. We encourage students to accept responsibility for their behaviour, show initiative and to understand how they can contribute positively to the lives of others in the community and society as a whole.

Taleem Institute recognises the importance of this crucial task and has a well-defined curriculum with the aim to serve the young and growing Muslims of tomorrow.

We strive for excellent academic standards and aim for our students to become future ambassadors of Islam.

Duties for teaching staff includes:

  • Successful applicants would be required to teach Quran/Qaidah, Islamic Studies, Memorisation of Key Duas and Surahs and basic Arabic language classes from the Safar Publications books
  • Deliver a range of subjects to children in a fun and engaging manner in line with our syllabus
  • Maintain classroom control via behaviour and safety management techniques
  • Regular marking of homework and term time exam papers
  • Prepare for lessons prior to class and develop excellent teaching resources
  • Work effectively with amirs, fellow teachers, admin staff and teaching assistants

The preferred teachers are those who have:

  • Clear spoken (fluent) English language and literacy skills
  • Good level of knowledge on Islamic Studies (Fiqh, Aqeedah & Seerah) and a basic level of Arabic language
  • Willing to always develop new skills and improve to maximize impact on children’s education
  • Passion to teach and participate in education reform
  • Ability to work in a professional learning community and respect all colleagues and students
  • Adhere to processes and policies that support the academies
  • Good level of fluency in Tajweed, Quran, and memorization of key daily supplications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and organisational skills as and when required
